I've been too busy doing nothing lately to blog so I'm not sure where to start...
New Years eve was amazing. I went with a friend and her family to the Chiang Mai Cultural Center to watch Thai dancers, sword-fighters and drummers while eating dinner seated on pillows on the ground. I had thought that it was going to be very touristy, but we were actually some of the only foreigners there. It was really fun.
After that I came home to watch the fireworks from the roof of my building. It was one of the most beautiful things that I've ever seen. There are about 1 million people living in the city, and a huge number of them had their own fireworks, and everyone was lighting candles and sending them up into the sky in paper lanterns... At midnight fireworks exploded from every single direction as far as I could see. It was wonderful.
School is going well, currently I'm learning how to make lots of fantastic skirts with ruffles and pleats and petticoats :-) Sometime in the next two weeks I will move on to learning every thing there is to know about some other type of garment. At some point I promise to take pictures....
One of the students in my class is opening his own clothing store in February and he is hosting a fashion show as part of the grand opening. He invited me to design outfits and jewelry for a few of the models! I'm very excited...
One of my friends is flying in tomorrow and the place is a mess, so have dedicated all of today to cleaning....after I sunbathe by the pool first that is hahah. Summer is officially on its way; it is supposed to be 92 degrees on Thursday...oh boy.
I love Thailand, but I miss home...

Wow, that is so cool! What a neat opportunity you have to be there. I love hearing about school and things you're learning. And I love your profile pictures, they are super cute.
Your description of New Year fireworks sounded lovely. Wish I could have been there, but I could imagine it from the way you wrote. Keep smiling beautiful girl. xo
