Entropy Custom Corsets!
After many months of delay I finaly took some photos of my corsets this morning...sorry it took me so long.
The first set of pics is of my most recent corset. Black silk with hand embroidered details and completely reinforced with 18 steel bones. This baby's my favorite!

These photos are of a corset named "Stealth Mouse" It was inspired by my two late ratties, Rosie and Sofie. The hand embroidered image was supposed to be a rat, but turned out looking more like a mouse than anything. I couldn't get the color to show up nicely in the photos. Its bright cherry red.

I've almost saved enough money to go back to school!! I'm hoping to leave by the end of next month. I so excited about my second year of tailoring school. During the second year students learn all about advanced techniques and formal wear and lovely things like that....what fun!

Snow(ed in)
Too much snow on the road to go anywhere today, so it looks like I'm stuck at the house.
I took care of the animals this morning, then came back in and built a fire and brewed a cup of tea. I'm re-heating some leftovers from last night and thinking about what I should do for the rest of the day.
Maybe I will see if the hottub is on...mmm that sounds nice

Snow!
Its snowing tonight! This is the first snow we've had this winter...its magical.
I'm house sitting for some family friends this week. Their home is beautiful and its nice to be staying somewhere else for a little while. I'm taking care of their 14 animals as part of the job. 1 dog, 4 cats, 1 rooster, 1 duck, 4 hens, 1 fish and 2 horses...
Aside from that I've been adding things to my online shop More things to come as I have time to post them. Check it out!

Bhutan
I absolutely must see this country at some point in my life. Every time I hear or read something about Bhutan or talk to a Bhutanese person I get the distinct and urgent feeling that I NEED TO GO TO BHUTAN! NOW!!!
They have just crowned a new king, and this story from the BBC is a beautiful bit of journalism.
Also, the Loi Krathong festival is this week in Thailand. I was fortunate enough to see it last year and the year before, but unfortunately not this year. I believe I posted a blog this time last year about the festival...anyway, here are some photos from a few days ago, courtesy of an acquaintance living in Chiang Mai.

This is from my friend Anna's blog; she put what I was thinking and feeling into words more eloquently than I could have.
"The same day our country made history with our presidential choice, a different group of people had their rights taken away.
Yesterday California passed Prop. 8, which amended their constitution to ban gay marriage. The right for gay’s to marry was already a constitutional right and it was voted away. If you have religious beliefs about who should be allowed to marry, then don’t let gay’s marry in your church. That’s a private organization and I have no problem with that. But if two heterosexual atheists want to get married they can just walk down to city hall and do it because that is a governmental service. Why is this not extended to gays? At one time it made sense and was acceptable to not let blacks eat with whites. Were their reasons then so different from ours now? There is one set of rules for one group of people, and another set for the other.
One of the arguments for supporting Prop 8 is that “it protects our children from being taught in public schools that ‘same-sex marriage’ is the same as traditional marriage.” I pray to whatever god there may be that there will come a time when we don’t feel the need to protect our children from being taught that all people are equal. How has such blatant discrimination somehow become acceptable again?
It was very clear what this proposition was doing, the title says it all. “Eliminates right of same-sex couples to marry. Initiative Constitutional Amendment.” This was entirely about a majority of people agreeing to take away the rights of a minority.
This decision will affect many more than just Californians. They were the largest and most influential state to allow same-sex marriage, and now leave only Massachusetts and Connecticut. When someone’s rights are taken away it affects all of us. With so many people quoting Martin Luther King Jr. yesterday, no one chose my favorite; “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” I have no doubt that at some point we will look back on this much the way we now look at segregation laws: with embarrassment and guilt.
The events of yesterday have left me feeling both incredibly proud of my country and incredibly ashamed."
